PRISTINA, KOSOVO – EU states are concerned about the large number of Kosovan asylum seekers all over Europe. This particular issue is seen as a main reason of EU countries to remain reluctant regarding the visa liberalization for Kosovo, the news-paper Koha Ditore reports. Before taking further steps, Kosovo has to re-integrate all asylum seekers returned from any EU state. In this context EU officials refuse to comment on PM Thaci’s statement that within 15 months citizens from Kosovo could move throughout Europe without visa requests:
“You have to understand that when there are so many people that leave Kosovo, when the economic situation is such, when there is so much talk about corruption and organized crime, the last thing that the internal ministries of the EU countries would want to see, are visa requirements be lifted … You are therefore also a victim of the newspapers headlines in Europe” ++ Read more News at the Kosovo News Monitor 12.04.2011. – KON
