Kosovo Ministers visit Brussels

BrusselsPRISTINA, Kosovo — Two Ministers of the Government of Kosovo, Mimoza Kursari-Lila and Bajram Rexhepi, are visiting Brussels today and tomorrow. The Kosovo Dpt. Prime Minister Kursari-Lila is expected to meet the EU enlargement Commissioner, Stefan Fule. Further meetings are foreseen with the director of CEFTA – the Central European Free Trade Agreement, Renata Vinez, as well as with the chairmen of the European Council Committee for trade policies, Laszlo Varkonyi. The meetings aim at improving Kosovo’s position in terms of both – EU trade preferences and the implementation of CEFTA agreements, which are currently blocked by Serbia.

Meanwhile the Kosovo Minister for Internal Affairs, Bajram Rexhepi intends to sign readmission respectively repatriation agreements with his counterparts from Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg (BENELUX), Geerd Leers, Melchiior Wathelet and Nicolas Schmit. The respective agree-ments are said to address the prevention of illegal migration and the process of visa liberalization for Kosovo. Reportedly in addition Rexhepi will gather with NATO officials in order to discuss the security situation in Kosovo (see KOHA, Telegrafi and further media). KON / NK
